Did anybody use team viewer for this, is vnc better?

I use TeamViewer for connecting to my Mac because I only have one.
If I tried to use TeamViewer for everything I could (Android, Windows, Mac) I would be hit with a commercial license with too many connections since I have so many devices, which is pretty expensive.
